Original Post (April 16, 2025):

In mid-March, the Town of Rhinebeck voted to sue Hyde Park and Clinton to stop them from greenlighting the IHG Six Senses project because of the serious environmental damage it will bring to the area.  As a result, Six Senses lawyers and business interests have been attacking Rhinebeck’s leaders for doing the right thing reports the Daily Freeman and we hear Six Senses plans to keep it up everywhere they can – on social media, at Rhinebeck Town Board meetings and through private contacts.

While Six Senses urges the upcoming lawsuit isn’t really about the environment and our community character, take a look at this map coordinated between Hyde Park and Rhinebeck showing that the event center resort access roads at the red circle (plus the entire 400 person event center resort, not shown) would be in some of the most environmentally-sensitive terrain in the entire state!  In truth, this is about the soul of the Hudson Valley.

Here’s a Press Release for Local Media organizations.

And the Lawsuit Petition if you’re looking for detail.

Please mark your calendars for April 28th, 6:00pm and show up to the Rhinebeck Town Board meeting to express your support for Rhinebeck’s leadership. The meeting will be at the Rhinebeck Town Hall, 80 E. Market Street, Rhinebeck.
