Activism

Taking it to the courts with our own legal representation is not enough. We need to ensure our communities are aware of issues before it’s too late, and we must show our elected officials we’re watching and will hold them accountable.

This means:

  1. Learn the issues, facts and STAY INFORMED.
  2. ATTEND MEETINGS of town board, planning board etc. and voice your concerns. (Bring a neighbor!)
  3. E-MAIL, CALL & MEET with your elected officials (include address). They represent YOUR interests!
  4. EDUCATE your friends & neighbors about the issues, and ENCOURAGE their ongoing participation.
  5. WRITE LETTERS to the editor of your local newspapers.
  6. GET OUT THE WORD on social media, including platforms like FaceBook & NextDoor.com. Encourage people to visit this website!
  7. RUN for an office or request an appointed position on town, planning or ZBA boards.
  8. ELECTIONS are THIS YEAR. Challenge candidates to clarify their positions on these issues, and actively support those that align, even if not in your town. (campaign donations, canvass, etc.)

Please don’t leave….
