Save Our Rural Towns

PETITION for a Proper Review – Please sign…

The Clinton Planning Board is currently reviewing the Six Senses Resort Hotel proposal, and must decide whether to issue a SEQRA “Positive Declaration*” for the Six Senses project, which will force a full, transparent environmental review and a public hearing. Large-scale projects and any project in environmentally sensitive places demand it, but Six Senses is saying NO.

Without a thorough review, we risk:

  • 20,000 gallons of wastewater effluent dumped daily into Crum Elbow Creek and into our drinking water aquifer.
  • Irreversible impacts on endangered species like the Blanding’s Turtle, bats, butterflies and more.
  • Permanent loss of community character via a zoning loophole allowing a massive resort in a residential/agricultural area.

Your signature (and those living with you), will help ensure our community gets a “Hard Look” at the project’s actual impacts, rather than what the developer’s own consultants are throwing at the town planning board.

* State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) is a New York State Law requiring state and local agencies to assess the environmental significance of all discretionary actions—such as permitting, funding, or direct development—before approving them. It ensures that environmental impacts are considered alongside social and economic factors early in the planning process. A “Positive Declaration” as a “Type I” Action, would require an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) be accomplished.
