Great news from last night’s (April 30th) Clinton Planning Board meeting! In a 4-3 vote, the Board authorized town consultants and counsel to draft a Resolution for a Positive SEQRA Declaration on the Six Senses/CECNY project for the May 28th 7pm meeting.
During the meeting, Six Senses’ counsel tried to object. They claimed it was “not fair” that we submitted information and expert reports after the Public Hearing closed—urging that only they should be allowed to submit late materials! (A huge shoutout to our legal team, our expert consultant Hydroquest, and everyone who helped CSHV).
But the majority of the Board was clear. They agreed that the public should be heard and a full Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is exactly where mitigation and alternative measures need to be hammered out.
Thank you. To everyone who stood up and spoke, submitted written comment, donated and helped spread the word, especially over these last months: this victory belongs to you. It was your powerful dedication that got us here.
While we still have a long road ahead to navigate this thorough environmental review, last night proved that when our community stands united, we can hold developers accountable to the law.
Let’s keep this momentum going!
With Gratitude,
Your CSHV Neighbors
