Save Our Rural Towns
We are a group of concerned residents whose mission is to protect and preserve the Hudson Valley’s community character and environment, safeguard natural resources, maintain aesthetic resources, and ensure that any proposed projects in the area comply with the law.
We originally gathered together to oppose a global hotel chain’s plan to build a sprawling hotel resort & spa in one of the Hudson Valley’s most pristine and ecologically-sensitive protected areas.
Since 2022, the 20+ billion dollar international InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) has been manipulating Hudson Valley towns and their laws for their profits, while creating lasting environmental destruction of our precious lands and waters in spite of marketing claims of sustainability.
Through grassroots and community organization, we have been able to slow their momentum and are continuing to push back against this destructive development.
This is an ongoing fight against this and future efforts. We want to share our experience and help others facing similar threats against our irreplaceable rural towns here in the Hudson Valley.
